Will Sai Sudharsan be on his way to grab his spot in the first XI for the 4th match of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar trophy? When the question was floating around social media platforms, a video posted by ESPNcricinfo showed the level of the young batter's dedication for the game.

A day before the 4th Test, Team India arranged to practice indoors, as there was a drizzle outside. White covers were on to protect the pitch and the ground as much as possible. Dark grey clouds were over the Old Trafford stadium; the weather was heavy and a little bit cold before an intense battle between England and India. Due to performance-related issues and multiple injury concerns, the first XI of Team India for the important game is under question. Multiple batting failures under pressure can force the team to change their batting lineup. Will Gautam Gambhir's side, Shubman Gill's side, consider the 23-year-old batter for the match at Old Trafford?

The answer is yet to come publicly. Prior to the game, Sudharshan kept himself prepared as much as possible. Even a wet, rainy day couldn't stop him from preparations. When the raindrops were melting in the lush green Old Trafford surface, Sudharshan was melting in his own thoughts. He was visualizing deliveries alone, on the covers, in the middle of the park. The southpaw came into the field barefoot, in the training dress only, to do some shadow practice.

Will Sudharshan get second chance?

The Chennai-born dropped right after the first test of the 5-match series for performing below expectations. In Leeds, he scored 0 and 30, respectively, in the first and second innings. Karun Nair, who was promoted to the number 3 position after the exclusion of Sudharshan, also underperformed.

After a dream IPL season, Sudharshan got his Test debut cap as a deserving candidate. He has to show his actual potential with the men in the Blue Brigade; for that, the top-order batter needs another chance in the playing combination.
