The left-handed opening batter of the Indian women’s side, Smriti Mandhana, and the famous music composer and singer, Palash Muchhal, are set to get engaged on November 23. The celebrations were viral around the social media platforms as they looked to start a new chapter in their career through a friendly cricket match.
The respective sides- Palash Muchhal heading ‘Team groom’ while Mandhana led the ‘team bride’ as they are joined by India team-mates, Shafali Verma, Arundhati Reddy, Jemimah Rodrigues, Renuka Singh, Radha Yadav, Richa Ghosh, and others. In one of the most exciting and anticipated tosses, Muchhal won the call against Mandhana with animated celebrations.
The fixture unfolded in a relaxed yet competitive spirit, with the team bride taking the win, making it clear by their lively celebrations in the clip. In the celebrations, the stumps were lifted in the air, which offered an end to the playful contest between the two sides.

After the end of the game, the couple- Mandhana and Muchhal- shook hands in the middle and shared a brief hug. The latest event comes after a series of ceremonies leading up to the wedding, as it had also kicked off the pre-wedding rituals in a bright spirit.
Several clips of the ceremony have been shared on social media, which showed the presence of their team-mates- Shafali Varma, Arundhati Reddy, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Radha Yadav, joining the celebrations. The group shared their dance on the floor and enjoyed the incredible moment. A day earlier, Palash proposed to Mandhana with a ring in the middle of the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, where India won the Women’s World Cup 2025 final against the Proteas.
Mandhana was excellent in the competition. The left-handed batter drilled 434 runs in nine innings at an average of 54.25 and a strike rate of 99.08 with the help of two half-centuries and one century at the best score of 109 runs.
