[WATCH] Dhruv Jurel's unique 'salute' celebration after 50 during IND vs WI Ahmedabad Test
Watch the wicket-keeper batter of the Indian side, Dhruv Jurel, makes unique celebration for his half-century during the opening Test between India and the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Dhurv Jurel got a golden chance during the two-match Test series against West Indies at home as the wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant, was ruled out of the two red-ball games due to a foot injury. When he returns for the home games against South Africa in November, Jurel would need to sit out. But he can stay with some incredible knocks.
During the opening Test of the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Jurel walked into the middle on the morning session of the second day after the dismissal of Shubman Gill. He took his time in the first session, with just 15 runs coming in his first 47 balls before clubbing a huge six against Roston Chase.
Jurel went back and flicked Jomel Warrican for a boundary into the fine leg region before guiding the short of length delivery through the gap to register his half-century. It was his second red-ball half-century, and he has an average of 36.43 in eight innings with a strike rate of 54.73.

Jurel has also put a fine partnership of over 80 runs for the fifth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja, who grabbed 34 runs in 57 balls at a strike rate of nearly 60. Jurel would look to extend this knock with a century. After the fifty, the wicket-keeper batter made a unique celebration where he saluted the crowd. This could be an indication of what happened a few weeks ago during the Asia Cup 2025.
In the first innings, West Indies got bundled out for 162 runs in 44.1 overs. Justin Greaves was the highest leading run-getter individually with 32 runs in 48 balls at a strike rate of 66.67 with the help of four sixes, while many batters got starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj combined to pick seven wickets between them in 28 overs, including six maidens at an economy rate of nearly three. Kuldeep Yadav also picked up two wickets, while Washington Sundar got one wicket. India has already taken a lead of over 150 runs by the second session.
