After the wicket of Ishan Kishan during the second encounter of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, India needed someone to bring the run rate up towards the back end of the innings against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Hardik Pandya stood up to the crisis with some clean hitting around the park.

Hardik Pandya went with the flow against Bernard Scholtz with the lofted shot over the long-on region for a massive six before using his full power at the left-arm spinner against the good length delivery outside the off stump as he slapped it over the long-off region for a massive six.

However, his knock was cut by a fabulous catch by the sub-fielder, Dylan Leicher, who held his nerve and grabbed a comfortable catch to dismiss the aggressive right-handed batter. On the second delivery of the 19th over, Pandya timed the low full toss into the leg side, where the fielder leaped to take the catch and put it inside the rope before completing it finally.

Hardik, before that position, nailed Ben Shikongo for two fours and one six. The fourth ball of the 16th over was nailed over the deep region down the ground before he hammered the very next delivery back over the bowler’s head for a boundary. The powerful batter followed it up with another four, which he sliced through the point region.

Hardik completed his fifty in just 27 balls, which was his third such score in the history of the T20 WCs. He was finally dismissed for 52 runs in 28 balls with the help of four boundaries and four sixes at a strike rate of nearly 200.

Earlier in the innings, Ishan Kishan, opening the batting, creamed a strong knock of 61 runs in 24 balls with the help of six boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate of 254.17 as India finished with 209 runs on the board for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
