Faf du Plessis delighted fans by singing the CSK anthem during the IND vs SA Super 8 clash.

The Super 8 encounter between India and South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium had a special moment off the field. Former South African skipper and Chennai Super Kings legend Faf du Plessis shocked everyone with a special act while doing live commentary. As the match intensified, he began singing the popular CSK song. “We are the Chennai boys, making all the noise everywhere we go!” The video went viral in no time and brought back memories for the Yellow Army.
Faf’s act revealed his special connection with the Chennai fans and the team. Even though he is not a part of the team anymore, his relationship with CSK is very special. Fans on social media platforms appreciated the former skipper for the special act. It added a light and nostalgic touch to a high-pressure game.
Earlier in the match, South Africa had a difficult start after choosing to bat. They were reduced to 20/3 inside the first four overs. David Miller then played a brilliant knock of 63 off 35 balls, while Dewald Brevis scored 45 from 29 deliveries. Tristan Stubbs later added an unbeaten 44 off 24 balls to help South Africa reach 187/7.
Bumrah Shines as India Begin the Chase
Jasprit Bumrah led India’s bowling effort with excellent figures of 3/15 in four overs. His spell included the important caught-and-bowled dismissal of Corbin Bosch. India’s chase of 188 did not start smoothly as Ishan Kishan (0) and Tilak Varma (1) fell early. Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav are trying to rebuild the innings.

Faf du Plessis remains one of CSK’s most successful overseas players. In his IPL career, he has played 154 matches and scored 4773 runs at an average of 35.10 and a strike rate of 135.79, including 39 fifties. During his time with CSK, he won two titles in 2018 and 2021 and was named Player of the Match in the 2021 IPL Final, guiding the team to their fourth championship.
