Watch: Former Pakistan stars engaged in heated argument over Shadab Khan's performance in T20 World Cup 2026
The two former players of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Mohammad Hafeez and Saqlain Mushtaq, were engaged in the heated argument over the performance of Shadab Khan in the T20 World Cup 2026.

Post Pakistan’s nervy defeat in the last over of the game against England in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, they have found themselves at a critical juncture of qualifying for the semifinals of the tournament, as they will need to rely on various results to get the tickets for that stage of the competition.
The voice has been raised on their leg spinner, Shadab Khan, who has picked up only five wickets in the five innings with the ball, as all those wickets came against the United States of America and Namibia. The former Pakistan stars, Saqlain Mustaq and Mohammad Hafeez, got engaged in a heated argument.

“He is a bit of both a bowling and batting all-rounder. You can’t point it out now. He can bat well, and they have used him at number five in the past, too. I have myself used him at number five because he has the potential to bat at that spot. He has also won a few games for the Pakistan side with the bat, and when you can do both well, then you are actually equally good.” Mushtaq expressed in the show as the video went viral.
Saqlain Mushtaq and Mohammad Hafeez argued over Shadab Khan
Shadab’s return hasn’t been good for the national side. Hafeez reckoned that as a player, Shadab’s primary role would always be taking wickets, along with Mohammad Nawaz. In the same manner, he claimed that Saim Ayub should bat well.

“I call myself an all-rounder, and when I played for the Pakistan side, my primary job was always to score runs. If I can’t do anything in the batting department, then I don’t need my four, five, six, or eight overs. My captain also used to tell me that if I did not bat well, then they wouldn’t need my four, six, or eight overs with the ball.” Hafeez expressed in that same show.
“So my primary job was always batting. In that same way, Shadab’s primary job is bowling. Mohammad Nawaz’s primary job is to take wickets. Like Saim Ayub’s primary job is batting, and if he isn’t doing that role, then he shouldn’t be part of the eleven at all.” The former all-rounder shed light.
