Australia faced West Indies at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff during their second warm-up clash ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 where Georgia Wareham’s showed her atheism with a bullet throw to send back the inform batter, Deandra Dottin, who looked to set to take the team over the 150-run mark.

It was a great fielding performance from Wareham as it lifted the team’s spirit with the momentum being shifted from West Indies’ side to Australia as the 2016 champions lost their way towards the death overs of the innings.

It was the third ball on the 17th over of the first innings from Ellyse Perry. The left-handed batter, Deandra Dottin, was on 46 runs off 37 balls and looked sharp to offer the aggression towards the backend of the innings. She was on the non-striker’s end at that time.

Her partner, Chinelle Henry, timed the short ball into the off side and set for a quick single. But ball didn’t even cross the point region before Georgia Wareham came charging in to pick the ball and used her strong arm to throw the ball at the stumps.

It was such a quick throw that Dottin couldn’t complete the single and found herself short of the crease to get dismissed on 46 runs off 38 balls at a strike rate of 121.05, shouldering on six boundaries. That shifted the entire momentum towards Australia, who didn’t let their opposition make a return into the game.

West Indies didn’t make a good start in the game as they found themselves struggling at 53/3 in the eighth over of the innings. Their most dependable player, captain Hayley Matthews, returned for 15 runs off 19 balls. The only glue was Dottin, who played a decent knock with the bat. But once she was dismissed, it fell like a pack of cards.

From being at 109/4 in 15.5 overs, the Caribbean side lost their last six wickets for just 22 runs in the last 25 balls and were finally bundled out for 131, which was never going to be enough against a strong side like Australia.

The Sophie Molineux-led side completed the chase by six wickets with five overs to spare. Their opener, Georgia Voll, remained unbeaten on 77 runs off 48 balls at a strike rate of 160.42, with the help of 10 boundaries and a pair of sixes.

Australia's one of the biggest clash of the competition will be against India, which is their last group-stage clash, on June 28 at Lord's.
