Watch: Gujarat Titans star stuns fans with pilot skills, lands aircraft smoothly in Auckland
New Zealand's Glenn Phillips, who is set to play for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026, has shared a video in which he is seen flying an aircraft.

Buzz for IPL 2026, which will begin on March 28, is everywhere. This season, all eyes will be on several key players, including New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips. He is part of the Gujarat Titans squad for the upcoming season. Last time, the Kiwi star missed the entire tournament due to injury and was ruled out, but this year, he is expected to play an important role. Currently, Phillips is in the spotlight for a different reason, as a video of him piloting and landing an aircraft is going viral.
The New Zealand star shared a special video on his Instagram account on Tuesday, March 17, showcasing his skills as a pilot. Glenn Phillips executed an impressive landing at Auckland’s Ardmore Aerodrome, and the clip is receiving widespread appreciation. Notably, the 28-year-old is a certified pilot and is currently working toward obtaining a commercial pilot license. He also recently interacted with students, instructors, and staff at Ardmore Flying School.

Phillips has often mentioned that he is a big fan of flying and once said that if he had ample money, he would choose to build a career in aviation rather than cricket. The right-handed player has also indicated that when he considers life after retirement, becoming a pilot would be at the top of his list.
Fans are excited to watch multi-talented Glenn Phillips in IPL 2026
There are only a few players in international cricket who are truly versatile, and Phillips is certainly one of them. Representing the New Zealand Cricket Team, he has contributed in batting, bowling, fielding, and wicketkeeping roles. Moreover, when required, he has even batted left-handed, highlighting his adaptability. In this way, there is hardly any skill he has not displayed on the cricket field.
However, his impact in the IPL has been limited so far, but playing for the Gujarat Titans in the 19th season of the league, he will have a great opportunity to prove himself. The Blackcaps star has been retained by GT for ₹2 crore, and after Sherfane Rutherford’s departure, he is expected to take responsibility in the middle order. Additionally, his spin bowling could also be utilised when needed. The team, captained by Shubman Gill, will play its first match of the season against Punjab Kings in New Chandigarh on March 31.
