Watch: Harmanpreet Kaur takes screamer to dismiss Ellyse Perry in IND-W vs AUS-W 1st T20I

The Indian women's team have travelled to Australia to play a 3-match T20I series, starting on February 15 in Sydney. The World Champions are in terrific form and have performed well in the previous series as well. Now, their task will be to beat Australia in their own backyard. Meanwhile, the hosts have a stunning team as well, filled with experienced players. 

In the first match in Sydney, India's bowling unit was outstanding, bowling out Australia for just 133 runs in the first innings. It was a complete effort from the bowlers and the fielders, who ran around taking catches. One of them was taken by Harmanpreet Kaur to dismiss Ellyse Perry. 

In the 7th over, Perry was looking settled, batting on 20 off 11 balls, when Arundhati Reddy bowled a length outside off delivery which Perry tried to hit it but the ball hit the toe end of the bat and went towards the mid-off. Harmanpreet kept her eyes on the ball, covered a good part of the ground, and pulled off a stunning catch, surprising the batter.

The Indian skipper also grabbed Ashleigh Gardner's catch to send the batter back to the pavilion. It was a great effort from the skipper, inspiring the young players around her. 

Australia put up 133 runs on scoreboard in 1st T20I game

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and asked Australia women to bat first. They started well but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Georgia Wareham scored 30 off 19 balls, including four boundaries. Meanwhile, the rest of the batters struggled to put up a decent partnership, which led to Australia's downfall. 

The visitors' bowling performance was magical in today's game. While Arundhati Reddy claimed four wickets in four overs, conceding just 22 runs, Renuka Thakur and Shree Charani picked up two wickets. Overall, they restricted Australia from forming partnerships and putting up a mammoth total on the board.

India will have to chase down the target to take a lead in the series. As we write, the match has been delayed due to rain. The ground is covered, and the rain has gotten harder. If the match is decided by DLS, India are well above the par score.
