Watch: Highlights of Quinton de Kock’s masterclass century against PBKS in IPL 2026

The Mumbai Indians (MI) are taking on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Despite it being a home game, MI lost a couple of wickets early, putting pressure on the middle order. However, Naman Dhir's half-century and Quinton de Kock's unbeaten century helped them put up 195 runs on the board in the first innings. 

After being asked to bat first, MI struggled initially. However, a steady partnership from Dhir and De Kock helped them put up a good total on the board. PBKS batters are in stunning form, and chasing the score doesn't seem to be that difficult for them. But MI do have an outstanding bowling line-up that might turn the game around.

Quinton de Kock scores second century in IPL 2026 season

MI's opening batter Quinton de Kock played an incredible knock in the first innings, hitting eight boundaries and seven sixes. The left-hander went on to produce a masterclass knock, remaining unbeaten on 112 off just 60 deliveries. Whether it was elegant drives through the covers or explosive hits over the ropes, de Kock displayed a complete range of strokes.

Despite losing early wickets, the batter held his nerves and ensured that the scoring rate never dipped, anchoring the innings while also maintaining attacking intent. It was his first game of the season, and he delivered an outstanding knock that the fans will remember for a while now. The knock went viral on social media, with everyone appreciating his technique and the way he held the innings together.
