Babar Azam’s form has dipped massively in recent years as he continues to struggle for runs during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. He collected only 25 runs against England after facing 24 balls at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, despite coming to bat in the fourth over of the innings. His experience didn’t help the national side at all.

One of the renowned journalists from Pakistan, due to this poor form of Babar Azam, has pointed a finger at the Hindi community of India, as he shared an old story of how Zaheer Abbas, during one of the tours to India, kept failing to get the runs with the bat. He wondered if the same had been cast on Babar.

“Imran Khan once wrote an interesting anecdote in his book: during one of Zaheer Abbas’s tours of India, his batting kept failing, and he began claiming that an Indian pandit had cast a spell on him, which was why he couldn’t perform. In recent years, Babar has collected only 167 runs in seven innings of the shortest format at an average of 27.83 and a strike rate of 117.61, with the help of one half-century. Even last year, he bagged only 206 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 114.44, thanks to two fifties.
