Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier pacer, was out of their opening encounter of the T20 World Cup 2026 against the United States of America at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. But on his return against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, he showed his class and looked dominant with the ball in all the phases of the game. 

Jasprit Bumrah picked one wicket in his four-over spell for 20 runs as India completed a victory by 93 runs after bundling out the opposition for 116 in 18.2 overs, with Varun Chakravarthy finishing as the top bowler with three wickets for seven runs in his two overs. Bumrah shot, he is firing a Yorker to dismiss one of the Namibia batters.

On the fourth delivery of the 17th over, Bumrah put up a perfect yorker on the base of the off-stump against Ruben Trumpelmann, who was backing away a tad and tried to bring his bat down but could not do much as he perhaps was impressed with the ball.

Earlier in the innings, India posted a massive score of 209 for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs as their inform left-handed opening batter, Ishan Kishan, cracked a fine knock of 61 runs in just 24 deliveries at a strike rate of 254.17 with the help of six boundaries and five sixes, including smashing four successive sixes in one over.

India lost their plot in the middle of words where they kept losing wickets at regular intervals before Hardik Pandya contributed a fine knock of 52 runs in just 28 deliveries at a strike rate of 185.71, thanks to his four boundaries and as many sixes.

Namibia made a fine start in the chase but couldn’t stretch it to a good score and kept losing wickets against the spinners. Only two batters crossed the 20-run mark, which was never going to be enough for them to cross the finishing line.

Brief Scores: India 209/9 (Ishan Kishan 61, Hardik Pandya 52, Gerhard Erasmus 4/20) beat Namibia 116 (Louren Steenkamp 29, Varun Chakaravarthy 3/7) by 93 runs.
