Watch: “Knows brutality…”- Rajeev Shukla reacts to Bangladesh’s removal from T20 World Cup 2026
The vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajeev Shukla, has reacted to the decision from the ICC of removing Bangladesh ahead of the 2026 season of the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president, Rajeev Shukla, has reacted to the honest statement on the removal of the Bangladesh side ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The situation began when the BCCI asked the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to exclude left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL 2026.
Rajeev Shukla revealed that it wasn’t possible to change the entire schedule at the last moment at the request of Bangladesh, which is why they had to replace the Litton Das-led side with Scotland. The BCCI, anyway, wanted to get Bangladesh for the 20-team competition.

“We wanted Bangladesh to play, and we also assured full security, but since they have made this decision, it is very difficult to change the entire schedule at the last moment. This is why Scotland was brought in. Bangladesh only wanted to play in Colombo, which is not possible at the last moment. We, anyway, always wanted Bangladesh to feature in the T20 World Cup.”
Rajeev Shukla reveals reason for removing Bangladesh from World Cup 2026
Since the decision of the BCB, Pakistan has also started to take its stance of boycotting the T20 World Cup, which has been really surprising. Shukla claimed that the PCB has only been trying to provoke the BCB in that decision, while Bangladesh shouldn’t get Pakistan’s brutal behavior on them.

“Pakistan is intervening in the matter without any reason and provoking Bangladesh. Pakistan shouldn’t do that at all. Because of them, the whole country was divided into two parts. Everyone knows the brutality done by Pakistan on the Bangladeshis, and now they are trying to mislead them, which is completely wrong.” Shukla addressed.
Pakistan is, reportedly, going to boycott the T20 World Cup 2026 clash against India, which is scheduled to happen on February 15 at the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo. If they boycott or even forfeit the contest against the Suryakumar Yadav-led side, then the defending champions will anyway get their two points.
