Cricket Legends Discuss Vaibhav on ‘Stick to Cricket’ Podcast

On the Stick to Cricket podcast, cricket greats Michael Vaughan, Sir Alastair Cook, David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, and Phil Tufnell discussed India’s strong T20 World Cup campaign and turned the conversation toward Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s rise as a future star.

The panel said his rise shows the depth of talent in Indian cricket, even at very young levels. They highlighted his confidence, technique, and game awareness, which are impressive for someone so young. The hosts also said that players like him give India strength now and for the years ahead.

Experts Praise His Talent

Vaughan and Cook said Suryavanshi brings excitement to cricket and shows that India’s youth programs are producing players who can shine on big stages.

Outside the podcast, Suryavanshi has received praise from many former players and experts. He made a record-breaking century in the IPL, becoming the youngest T20 centurion in India’s premier league at just 14.

He was also called “the best player I’ve ever seen” by England captain Jos Buttler after scoring 175 runs in the Under‑19 World Cup final against England.

His childhood coach says he could join India’s senior squad in 1–2 years if he continues to develop. Experts advise that his physical and mental growth should be carefully managed so he can reach his full potential without pressure.
