Watch: 'Limit to hypocrisy...'- Aakash Chopra slams England players over Pakistan players' participation in The Hundred 2026
The former openin batter of the Indian side, Aakash Chopra, has slammed the England players for their comments on Pakistan players' not being able to participate in 2026 season of The Hundred.

A few days ago, the news broke that the Pakistan players could find themselves not being part of The Hundred 2026, as four of the franchises have been sold to Indian owners. That was the same case in the International League (ILT20), as only one franchise had Pakistan players in their line-up. Several England players have shown their disappointment at it.
One of them had been their white-ball captain, Harry Brook, ahead of their Super 8 clash against Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup 2026. He claimed, “What I would say is Pakistan has been a great cricket nation for many years. I think there are about 50 to 60 players in the auction, and it would be a shame not to see some of them in there. There are some amazing cricketers, and they bring some great crowds as well.”
But the former Indian opening batter, Aakash Chopra, has called it hypocrisy as it reminded that no Pakistan players were picked even in the previous season of the tournament. Even though only nine players have been part of The Hundred so far, it reflects the skills of the country.

Pakistan’s spinner, Usman Tariq, was part of Shah Rukh Khan’s franchise, Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025. Chopra felt that there would be no way for people to assume that the Indian owners wouldn’t go for the Pakistan players in the bidding.

“There is a limit to hypocrisy. The auction is on the 12th; they are putting pressure to pick. If you will not pick, then you are discriminating. Last year, no Pakistani players were picked in the league, and then no one was crying. Harry Brook also didn't say a single word.” Chopra expressed in a video on his YouTube channel.
A total of 67 Pakistan players have registered for the upcoming season, headlined by the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and others. Notably, no Pakistan player has been part of the SA20, all of whose six franchises are under the Indian owners.
