Watch: Live caller makes unusual request about Babar Azam amid T20 World Cup 2026

At one point, Babar Azam was widely regarded as the finest modern-era batter in Pakistan cricket. His career was on a steady upward trajectory, and within a few years, he was appointed captain across all three formats of the game. However, the past four years have brought significant changes to his career. During this period, he relinquished the captaincy and was also dropped from Pakistan’s T20 side along with several senior players. Although Babar eventually made a comeback, he has so far endured a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026. As a result, calls for his removal from the team have resurfaced.

Along with social media, Babar Azam is also targeted and mocked on several Pakistani shows. Meanwhile, a video is going viral on X, which is from a Pakistani show, where Maulana Azad Jamil was answering questions from callers related to Ramadan. During this, a caller made an unusual request to the Maulana regarding Babar and asked for a wazifa to get this player removed from the team. It is worth noting that a wazifa means reciting a specific supplication or repeatedly invoking Allah's name in a certain manner and counting to fulfill a particular purpose.

While talking to Maulana, the caller said, I love cricket very much, and I need a wazifa that Babar Azam should somehow be removed from the team.

After hearing the caller’s request, Maulana Azad Jameel said,

"Cricket has become a deep passion among the youth and children, at times bordering on obsession. Cricketers to be mindful of their influence, noting that when they hit a six, celebrations are not limited to the stadium, as people applaud from their homes as well. He further stated that young fans emulate their style and conduct, playing cricket in the streets while looking up to them as role models. According to him, when players are on the field, the entire nation prays for their success, which makes delivering strong performances all the more important."

However, the conversation eventually took a different turn, as the Maulana referred to the downing of six Pakistani aircraft by the Indian Army. Consequently, he did not grant the caller any concession regarding his request about Babar Azam.

If we talk about Babar Azam's performance in the T20 World Cup 2026, he hasn't lived up to expectations so far. Babar has scored 66 runs in five matches at an average of 22. His highest score is 46.
