Tilak Varma Returns After Injury

Tilak Varma missed the recent T20I series against New Zealand due to an abdominal injury. He was at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, undergoing rehab.

The warm-up game against the USA was his return to competitive cricket. He looked in good touch and rhythm and showed no signs of discomfort while batting.

Tilak is included in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2026. He is expected to play the opening game and regain full fitness.

Tilak is an important player in the middle order. He played a match-winning knock under pressure in the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan. India will want him in good shape as they aim to defend their title.
