A Special tribute to India’sWomen’s Cricket World Cup 2025 triumph was given at the beating retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi, as the video went viral on social media platforms. The ceremony was graced peacefully by President Draupadi Murmur, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ceremony marked the culmination of the 77th Republic Day celebrations in India as the bands of the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, the Indian Air Force, and the central Armed Police forces played foot-trapping melodies amidst the cheering of the people an applause of the synchronized marches, with soldiers forming the shape of the World Cup trophy to honor the omens team under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur.

The women's team, which beat South Africa in the final at the DY Patel Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, created history in 2025 by winning their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup in a dramatic turnaround after being written off mid-season, where they faced three successive defeats in the group stage encounters.

India experienced three consecutive defeats to South Africa, Australia, and England in the group stage before reviving their campaign with a crucial victory over New Zealand, and went on to script a record-breaking 339 run chase against Australia in the semifinals in Mumbai, which was the biggest by any World Cup knockout match before defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final clash.

For the Indian side, their opening batter, Smriti Mandhana, ended as their leading run-getter with 434 runs in nine innings at an average of 54.25 and at a strike rate of 99.08 with the help of two half-centuries and one century at the best score of 109 runs.
In the bowling department, Deepti Sharma finished as the leading wicket-taker of the entire campaign with 22 wickets in nine innings at an average of justice over 20 and, a strike rate of 22.18, and an economy rate of 5.52, thanks to the best bowling figures of five for 39 in an innings.
