The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will start their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign on March 28 by playing against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Bengaluru. The game will start at 7.30 PM IST. However, the opening ceremony is likely to start a few hours before that. Ahead of the tournament, the players have joined their respective training camps to practice hard for the T20 league. 

Meanwhile, Nitish Reddy and Ishan Kishan engaged in a fun banter on the stage during an event. The players were spotted chuckling about the witty reply given by Kishan when Reddy was asked to make a choice between Test and T20s. 

T20 vs Tests debate sparks buzz among fans

Whenever a player is asked to choose between Test and T20s and they go on to choose the latter option, the internet gets divided. Fans start debating whether the player is good enough to be in the Test squad. In today's times, some young players go on to choose T20 cricket over Tests because it's a shorter format and the chances of injuries are way less. They get good recovery time.  

Meanwhile, the scope of playing in the IPL and earning money has also increased if a player is good in the T20s. However, the players who have played cricket for a longer time know the value and thrill of playing Test cricket. Batting for a day straight, not allowing the opponents to break you down, or even bowl consistently for longer spells, has its own charm.

Players like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni had played across formats with the same motivation and grit for years before retiring. Moreover, they had also captained the sides as well, adding another layer of complexity to their careers. Even then, their performance was hardly impacted and that's why thousands of young people look upto them.

During an event, all the SRH players were present on the stage, where a few questions were asked to them while being divided into two groups. When Nitish Reddy was asked to choose between Test and T20, he went for the latter option. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan jumped into the conversation and reminded him that he's in the Test squad for India. 

"You are in the Test team, bro. You need to enjoy Test cricket. At least say it as the selectors are listening," said Ishan Kishan during the interaction. 

Kishan was completely enjoying the question and answer session, and he also said that it's hard to control when the mic is in his hands. The young batter made it into the T20I team recently after missing out for two years. He is an incredible batter and performed well in the T20I series against New Zealand and the World Cup 2026.

The fans on social media had a mixed reaction to the incident. While some people praised Nitish Reddy for being a consistent member of the Test squad, some criticised him for his statement. Meanwhile, a few fans also pointed out Kishan's comeback skills, as he is known for giving witty replies mid-conversations. While Kishan plays in the T20I team, Reddy is a regular member of the Test team.
