During the final of the Ranji Trophy for the 2025/26season at the KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground, the eyes were on the international pacer, Prasidh Krishna from Karnataka, when they were up against Jammu and Kashmir in the competition. The lanky pacer was needed to carry the bowling of the side after they decided to bowl first on a surface that turned out to be flat for the batters.

Prasidh Krishna drew the first blood with the wicket of Qamran Iqbal, who was dismissed for six runs. He was beaten numerous times by the pacers and got out by a back-of-a-length delivery outside the off stump, to which he decided to go with hard hands and ended up getting the outside edge into the hands of the slip fielder, KL Rahul.

Prasidh also picked up the second wicket of Yawer Hassan, for 88 runs, as the pacer used the length ball outside the off stump to which the batter was only half-forward and looked to defend before the ball found the outside edge and was carried low to the slip region.

On the second day of the game, Krishna was cock-a-hoop with the wicket of Abdul Samad. It was in the corridor of uncertainty to which the ball came angling in initially with the natural over the wicket angles and ended up drawing the outside edge of the batter.

Krishna’s fifth wicket of the first innings came against Auqib Nabi for two runs. The batter completely misjudged the length and paid the price for it. He ended with figures of 5/98 in 34.1 overs as the Jammu and Kashmir side got bundled out for a massive score of 584 runs.

In reply, Karnataka lost their four wickets under 100 runs before Mayank Agarwal celebrated his fifty with the bat. Nabi had the magical figures of 3/23 in his nine overs with two maidens at an economy rate of 2.6, as Karnataka stand at a critical position with a trail of 480+ runs.

Brief Scores: J&K 584 (Shubham Pundir 121, Yawer Hassan 88, Prasidh Krishna 5/98) vs Karnataka 100/4 (Mayank Agarwal 59*, Auqib Nabi 3/23)
