Sahibzada Farhan once again became a saviour for Pakistan and scored a brilliant fifty against England in the Super-8 match of T20 World Cup 2026.

Sahibzada Farhan has emerged as Pakistan's most consistently performing player so far in the T20 World Cup 2026. Displaying remarkable composure and reliability at the top order, he has played several impressive innings and played a crucial role in taking his team to the Super 8 stage. Continuing his excellent form into the second stage of the tournament, the Pakistani opener once again showcased his talent by scoring an impressive half-century against England in challenging conditions. In the ongoing match at Pallekele, Sahibzada played a brilliant innings of 63 runs off 45 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.
In the Super-8 round, Pakistan's first match was against New Zealand, which was abandoned after the toss due to rain. Now, in the second match, Pakistan is facing England. In this match, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first, but the batters struggled against England's bowlers. Wickets were falling at one end, but Sahibzada Farhan batted quite well from the other end. Maintaining his good form from the group stage, Sahibzada scored a half-century off 37 balls and then rescued his team from further blows before getting out.
After reaching his half-century, Sahibzada Farhan was unable to extend his stay at the crease and was eventually dismissed by Jamie Overton. The English pacer delivered a full-length ball, and Sahibzada attempted to shuffle across and flick it on the leg side. However, the pace and movement beat him, and the ball struck him on the pad. The on-field umpire adjudged him out. Sahibzada opted for the review, but the decision was upheld, forcing him to walk back to the pavilion with Pakistan at 122 in the 16th over of the innings.
Pakistan Team missed out on a big score due to a mid innings collapse
At one stage, Pakistan looked well on course for a substantial total, but the dismissal of Sahibzada Farhan proved to be a turning point in the innings. Following his departure, the batting unit lost its rhythm as wickets fell in rapid succession. Consequently, Pakistan’s score moved from 122/3 to 164/9, reflecting a significant collapse in the latter stages of the innings.
In the middle order, Babar Azam scored 25 runs off 24 balls. Fakhar Zaman contributed 25 runs off 16 balls, while Shadab Khan made 23 runs off 11 balls.
