Pakistan are playing against England in the Super 8 match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Pallekele International Stadium, Pallekele. The Men in Green decided to bat first after winning the toss against the dangerous English bowling attack.

Despite choosing to bat first, Pakistan kept losing regularly. They lost opener Saim Ayub in the second over, followed by Salman Agha in the third. The wickets kept falling at regular intervals with no partnerships being formed. They lost Babar Azam in the 10th over when he had formed a partnership with Sahibzada Farhan.

Jamie Overton bowled a peach of a delivery to dismiss Babar. He bowled on a length around off. Babar tried to hit the ball, but it stayed low, and he missed it. The ball went on to hit the stumps, sending the batter back to the pavilion. While the partnership was going well, Babar's strike rate was in question. He was batting on 25 off 24 when he got dismissed.

Can Pakistan qualify for semi-final if they lose against England?

Pakistan are in a tough spot in the tournament as they are playing against England in the World Cup 2026. After their first match was called off due to rain, this particular encounter became a crucial one. If the Men in Green lose this match against England, they are most likely to be eliminated from the tournament.

As we write, Pakistan have put up 164 runs in the first innings. They did lose nine wickets in the process, but somehow managed to put up a respectable total on the board. It will be interesting to see whether England will chase it or the Pakistani bowlers will defend the score.
