The PCB has justified its position through security reasons. It argues that revealing the identity or financials of the officials will put them at risk or subject them to unwarranted scrutiny. Such an approach holds true for both salary revelations and travel information.

Notwithstanding the criticisms, the PCB argues that its actions conform with the welfare of the officials affiliated with Pakistani cricket and not secrecy.
