PCB under fire as corruption allegations surface again
The Pakistan Cricket Board is facing renewed scrutiny after refusing to disclose key financial and travel details, citing confidentiality and security concerns.An in-camera senate briefing has been offered, even as attention shifts to the high-stakes PSL 2026 playoffs.

Mohsin Naqvi Heading the Pakistan Cricket Board is scrutinised again due to recent allegations of corruption and; PCB has declined to share its financial and administrative details with the Senate of Pakistan therefore creating issues for the PCB regarding governance and transparency.
PCB Refusing to Share Salary and Travel Information
Reports suggest that PCB has refused to provide either the salaries or benefits of its officer and selectors because they deem it “sensitive and confidential” information. Senator Hidayatullah first brought forth PCB's financial structure during a senate meeting, where he asked questions pertaining to the PCB's finances.
Furthermore, the PCB has kept under wraps the names of officials who traveled along with the Pakistan team for theICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 hosted in Sri Lanka. PCB has argued that it would be inappropriate to make such information available publicly.

PCB claims security considerations as a reason
The PCB has justified its position through security reasons. It argues that revealing the identity or financials of the officials will put them at risk or subject them to unwarranted scrutiny. Such an approach holds true for both salary revelations and travel information.
Notwithstanding the criticisms, the PCB argues that its actions conform with the welfare of the officials affiliated with Pakistani cricket and not secrecy.

PSL 2026 playoffs after in-camera briefing
Though unwilling to share such information publicly, PCB has decided to conduct an in-camera briefing for the senate. This step has been taken by the authorities as a compromise between keeping private and sharing the same for institutional purposes.
On the other hand, in the cricketing field, all eyes will now turn towards the playoffs of Pakistan Super League 2026. The Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, comes first in the league, while Islamabad United stands second. The Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen have been drawn together in the eliminator match, while the final is fixed for May 3 in Lahore.
