Watch: “Sense of unease…”- Yashasvi Jaiswal shares Rohit Sharma’s advice for his maiden ODI century
The left-handed opening batter of the Indian cricket team, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has shared a vital suggestion of former captain and opening partner, Rohit Sharma, for his maiden ODI century.

The left-handed opening batter of the Indian cricket team, Yashasvi Jaiswal, recently celebrated his maiden ODI century during the third game of the three-match series against South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. He got to the landmark in his fourth innings, having missed out on the opportunity in the last three innings of the 50-over format.
During the ODI in Vizag, there was a point when Yashasvi Jaiswal, just moments after celebrating his half-century, looked to go hard after the bowlers from the first ball. That was when Rohit Sharma, from the other end, walked up to him and asked him to calm down and take it easy to reach the three-figure mark with the bat.
“Every time Rohit bhai scolds us, it has a lot of love and indulgence mixed with it. In fact, if Rohit bhai isn’t scolding you, there is a sense of unease as to what happened; why isn’t he scolding? Has he felt bad about my action?” Jaiswal expressed at the Agenda Aaj Tak event.

In the T20Is, the left-handed batter has nailed 723 runs at a strike rate of 164.31.

“If they are there, we all feel relaxed. When I was playing the third ODI, Rohit bhai told me to relax, remain calm, and take time as he would take risks. How many people will do that? Similarly, Virat paaji gave me small targets and told me that we will have to win it ourselves.” Jaiswal addressed.
“My dream is to play the T20 World Cup, but I try to focus on my game and will wait for my time,” Jaiswal revealed when asked about his dream as of now. The Mumbai batter, however, hasn’t been a regular member of India’s shortest format with his last T20I coming in July last year.
