Things looked ominous for New Zealand during the fourth T20I of the five-match series against India at the ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. They got a lucky wicket of aggressive Shivam Dube as the left-handed batter was dismissed for 65 runs in just 23 deliveries at a strike rate of 282.61.

On the last delivery of the 15th over, there was the anticlimactic end in Shivam Dube's innings as the right-handed batter, Harshit Rana, smashed the slower ball on a short of a lane delivery straight back to the stump at the bowler’s end, where Matt Henry went low and stuck his hand out to try and stop it.

The ball brushed his fingers and hit the wickets at the bowler's end. Shivam Dubey was backing up and was out of his crease when the stumps lit up to bring the pin-drop silence in the ground to end the magnificent knock from the left-handed batter. Dube was dismissed for 65 runs in just 23 deliveries, with the help of three boundaries and seven sixes.

India was clinical in the middle overs with the ball before Daddy Mitchell clubbed an undefeated knock of 39 runs in just 18 balls at a strike rate of 216.67, thanks to his couple of boundaries and three sixes, which helped carry the total to 215.

India continued to lose wickets from the start, and apart from Shivam Dube, no one could spend time in the middle, which was the main reason for their 50-run defeat. They will be eager to get back in the best mode ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

Brief Scores: New Zealand 215/7 (Tim Seifert 62, Devon Conway 44, Arshdeep Singh 2/33) beat India 165 (Shivam Dube 65, Mitchell Santner 3/26, Jacob Duffy 2/33) by 50 runs.
