Ahead of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa, the speculation was around Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two veteran batters of the Indian cricket team, who had a decent performance post the three-match away ODI series against Australia down under. The former smashed a fine half-century in Adelaide and remained unbeaten on a century in Sydney.
Virat Kohli had a tough time in the first couple of encounters in Perth and Adelaide before he celebrated an unbeaten half-century during the third clash at the SCG. Heading into the home series against the Proteas, Rohit and Kohli were under review in a BCCI meeting as the former pacer of the side, S Sreesanth, revealed his view.
“I will just suggest to Gautam Gambhir that he shouldn’t stop Rohit and Virat at all. Until they want to feature in the ODI series, they should keep on playing. Because they are a thousand times better than the ones currently playing. So all the best to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. They are brilliant players.” Sreesanth addressed in an interaction during the Abu Dhabi T10 league.
