The middle order batter of the Indian Cricket Team, Shreyas Iyer, who has returned to the national side after a few months, has displayed a terrific direct-hit to run out Micheal Bracewell during the IND vs NZ 1st ODI

Shreyas Iyer returned to competitive cricket since fatal injury that he picked up against Australia during the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), while trying to take the catch of Alex Carey running backwards. He did not take much time in displaying his fielding abilities as he made a direct hit to dismiss Michael Bracewell via run out during the first ODI against New Zealand.
Iyer had featured in a couple of games for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to the lead up to the 50 over series against the Black Caps. In Vadodara, he was standing at the long-on region to the right-handed batter, Daryl Mitchell, who smashed the ball straight down the ground looked to come back for a second.

Iyer had rushed into the before picking it with one hand and smashing it to the bowlers in as the director found Michael Bracewell short of his crease. The New Zealand captain for this series was dismissed on 16 runs as it puts some brakes in their scoring towards the back end of the innings.

New Zealand posted a decent score of 300 for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs thanks to the platform of 117-run opening partnership from Devon Conway and Henry Nicholas. The former smashed a decent knockoff 56 runs thanks to his six boundaries and one six while Nicholas clubbed 62 runs in 69 balls, shouldering on eight boundaries.

However, the late finish came from the batting of Daryl Mitchell, who nailed a fabulous knock of 84 runs in 71 balls at a striker of nearly 120 thanks to the five boundaries and three sixes, while Kristian Clarke also remained unbeaten on 24 runs in just one 7 balls to touch the 300-run mark in their allotted 50 overs.
The eyes for this clash was on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the two veterans who have already retired from both the Tests and T20Is, as the crowd won a big score from both the right handed batters in the chase.
