There was absolute madness in the final half-hour of Day 4 at Lord’s as the third Test between England and India set up a thrilling finale. After bowling out England for just 192 in their second innings, India looked set for a smooth chase of 193. However, a dramatic collapse in the final session saw them slump to 58 for 4 at stumps, leaving 135 runs still to get on the final day with just six wickets in hand.

India’s top order crumbled under pressure as Yashasvi Jaiswal (0), Karun Nair (14), captain Shubman Gill (6), and nightwatchman Akash Deep (1) fell cheaply.
Despite the precarious situation, all-rounder Washington Sundar remained composed and optimistic. Speaking to Sky Sports after the day's play, Sundar revealed his mindset going into a high-stakes Day 5, saying, "Honestly, what are the team's demands out of the situation at that particular time? I should be able to do anything that the team requires. It's going to be exciting because we need about 130 odd runs, and we've got all day, but the wicket is doing a little bit, so there needs to be a perfect plan before I go out to bat."

“That’s exactly what I’ve manifested”

Sundar, when he was asked what it would feel like when India scores the winning runs. He simply smiled and said, “That’s exactly what I’ve manifested.” It was a confident response from a player who has already made a massive contribution—taking 4 for 22 with the ball earlier in the day, including key wickets like Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jamie Smith, and Shoaib Bashir.

India will resume Day 5 with KL Rahul unbeaten on 33, and with batters like Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Sundar himself to follow, the visitors still have hope. “Winning a Test at Lord’s would be amazing,” Sundar admitted. With the five-match series currently locked at 1-1, Day 5 promises a classic finish. Will Sundar’s manifestation turn into reality? All eyes will be on Lord’s.
