After the match, the middle-order batter received a special medal from Raghavindraa Raghu, training assistant of Team India, in the dressing room.

Raghu is one of the unsung heroes behind the team's recent success. In a warm gesture, before receiving the medal, Varma went down on his knees to touch Raghu's feet. The moment steals every cricket fan's heart as the batter showed true respect to Raghu. Along with Tilak, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah and other players of the playing XI contributed behind the Men in Blue's emphatic win in a must-win game.
