It was an unconventional way to end the T20 World Cup 2026 game between India and Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. India showed their dominance with the bat and ball throughout the game, apart from the few patches where the opposition displayed their energy. But they couldn’t stretch it big.

Shivam Dube got the final wicket of Zane Green to a very full delivery outside the off stump as it angles away from the left-handed batter, who tried to play the reverse-sweep and missed it completely. The bat came in his follow-through and hit the off-stump as he couldn’t control the bat swing and left the field in disappointment for 11 runs in 19 balls.

India claimed a massive 93-run victory, which is their biggest victory margin in the T20 World Cup by runs, going past the win over England in Colombo that came by 90 runs. It’s also their 10th successive win in the history of the T20 World Cup, which easily crosses the Proteas’ eight wins in 2024.

In this clash, the pacers struggled by leaking 235 runs in 25.2 overs at an economy rate of 9.27 and picked up only seven wickets, while the dot-percentage was 34.8. Meanwhile, the spinners picked up 10/88 at an economy rate of 6.76 for a dot percentage of 50.

“Pretty good game for everyone. I think it was not an easy wicket to bat on, but the way Ishan and Sanju started, it didn't look like it was a difficult wicket. And then the partnership between Shivam and Hardik, the way they batted after losing two or three quick wickets, I think it was very commendable.” India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, spoke in the post-match presentation.

India would be pretty happy to see the all-round show of their Hardik Pandya, heading into the T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Pakistan on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

Brief Scores: India 209/9 (Ishan Kishan 61, Hardik Pandya 52, Gerhard Erasmus 4/20) beat Namibia 116 (Louren Steenkamp 29, Varun Chakaravarthy 3/7) by 93 runs.
