The devastating flood in Punjab claimed 29 lives and disrupted the lives of more than 2.56 lakh people across the state in just one month, as per the latest media reports. Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh couldn't stay relaxed in that situation. He took to his social media platform and expressed affection towards the people who were deeply affected by the natural calamity.

In his social media post, Yuvraj wrote, "Punjab is my home and my soul. Watching the devastation of these floods has been deeply painful. Families have lost loved ones, homes, and hopes, and my hurt goes out to each one of them. Please know you are not alone; we stand with you, and I'll do everything I can to support those efforts. Together we'll rebuild lives and bring home back."

According to the latest media reports, already thousands of people have been evacuated from various places in the flood-affected state. Since August 1st, twelve out of Punjab’s 23 districts have been directly hit by the flood. The Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, along with seasonal rivulets, overflowed due to heavy rainfallsin the northern part of the country.

Rivers originating in or connected with Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir started to overflow and caused a devastating flood. As of now, only from Pathankot, 6 deaths have been recorded, while Amritsar, Barnala, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Mansa, and Rupnagar reported 3 deaths from each. The NDRF, SDRF, Army, and Punjab Police are working relentlessly to save the lives of common people.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, "Heavy monsoon rains, coupled with the release of waters from dams, have caused extensive flooding in seven districts, namely Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Fazilka, and Hoshiarpur. With the situation still evolving, there is a grave concern that conditions may further deteriorate in the coming days."
