WC 2023 Points Table Update: New Zealand cement place at the top
New Zealand are currently topping the chart with 4 points. They are the only team in the tournament apart from Netherlands that have played at least two games so far.
New Zealand beat Netherlands in the latest match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 to cement their place at the top of the Points Table. They won by 99 runs despite a fightback from a few batters in the middle-order.
New Zealand are currently topping the chart with 4 points. They are the only team in the tournament apart from Netherlands that have played at least two games so far. South Africa are standing in second with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India in third, fourth, and fifth place. Netherlands after losing their first two games are standing in eighth place on the table.
Devon Conway (32) and Will Young (72) gave a solid start to New Zealand earlier in the match. Rachin Ravindra (51), Daryl Mitchell (48), and Tom Latham (53) built the innings on it. A late cameo of 17-ball 36* from Mitchell Santner finally helped the side set 322/7.
The chase was never smooth. However, Colin Ackermann (69) tried his best but Netherlands fell short of 99 runs.
