During the only Test of India Women’s tour of Australia in 2026 at the WACA in Perth, Sayali Satghare, the right-arm pacer of the India Women's side, made his debut in the red-ball format. She had played three ODIs so far and picked up as many wickets at an average of 35.66 and a strike rate of 46 with an economy rate of 4.65.

Meanwhile, Sayali Satghare has been part of the 10 games in the Women’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Giants (GG). She has picked up 10 wickets in eight innings at an average of under 24, a strike rate of 15.6, and an economy rate of 9.19. In recent years, she picked up nine wickets in six innings at an economy rate of 8.75.

Satghare is just 25 years old and has an impressive performance on her very first day of the Only Test in Perth with a couple of wickets. After the end of the clash, she had picked up the two wickets of the opposition captain, Alyssa Healy, and the opening batter of the opposition, Georgia Voll.

On the second delivery of the third over, Sayali came to draw the first blood with the wicket of Georgia Voll. The right-arm bowler’s in-swinging delivery nipped back to castle the stumps of the batter, who leaned ahead to counter it before the gap between bat and pad did the trick.

She came back later to dismiss the right-handed batter, Alyssa Healy, for 13 runs. It was a pitched up delivery wide of the off stump as the batter reached out and drove away from her body. It flew off the outer half of her bat and carried it to Jemimah Rodrigues at the backward point region for 13 runs. 

Indian women were bundled out for 198 runs in the first innings as Jemimah Rodrigues smashed 52 runs in 84 balls with the help of seven boundaries at a strike rate of 61.90 before Australia women were restricted to 96/3 by the end of the opening day.

Brief Scores: India Women 198 (Jemimah Rodrigues 52, Annabel Sutherland 4/46) lead Australia Women 96/3 (Ellyse Perry 43*, Sayali Satghare 2/24) by 102 runs.
