In the 31st match of the T20 World Cup 2026 canada's batter Yuvraj Samra mesmerized everyone with his spectacular batting and made history. The 19-year-old player troubled the bowlers of a strong team like New Zealand and scored a century, making him the youngest batter to hit a century in the tournament. Yuvraj completed his century in just 58 balls and scored 110 runs in 65 balls before getting out, including 11 fours and six sixes.

In the match played at the Chennai ground, Yuvraj Samra justified Canada's decision to bat first after winning the toss right from the start and unleashed a flurry of fours and sixes from one end. Yuvraj scored the first half-century of his T20 World Cup career in 36 balls and then took 22 balls to go from fifty to a century. In doing so, Yuvraj also set several records.

At the age of 19 years and 141 days, he surpassed Pakistan's Ahmed Shehzad, who had set the record at the age of 22 years and 127 days against Bangladesh in 2014, for becoming the youngest player to score a century in the T20 World Cup. In addition, Yuvraj has also set the record for the highest individual score in the tournament on behalf of an Associate Nation, which was previously held by Aaron Jones of the USA, who had played an unbeaten innings of 94 runs against Canada in 2024.
