In a major development, Pakistan batter Sidra Amin has been sanctioned for the infraction of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s World Cup 2025 match against India on October 5, 2025. The 33-year-old cricketer was charged with a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which pertains to the “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.”

The incident took place in the 40th over of Pakistan’s innings, when Sidra, after being dismissed, hit her bat forcefully onto the pitch in frustration.
