WPL 2026, Match 3: MI Women vs DC Women - Match Highlights

Defending champions Mumbai Indians Women claimed their first win of the WPL 2026 after securing a big win against the three-time runners-up Delhi Capitals Women. 

In their first game of the season, Delhi Capitals chose to field first, as Mumbai Indians scored 195/4 in 20 overs in their second game of the season. In reply, Delhi Capitals were bowled out for only 145 runs in 19 overs, as Mumbai Indians claimed their first win by 50 runs.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur scored 70s

In the first innings, Nat Sciver-Brunt and captain Harmanpreet Kaur controlled the innings. While Sciver-Brunt had a 49-run partnership for the second wicket with the opener Gunalan Kamalini (16), the English legend also had a 66-run partnership with the skipper for the third wicket. 

Sciver-Brunt scored 70 off 46 balls with 13 fours, Harmanpreet scored 74 not out off 42 balls with eight fours and three sixes. Also, Nicola Carey scored 21 runs off 12 balls with four fours. 

In the final over of the innings, MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur smashed four successive fours to Shree Charani.  

Among Delhi bowlers, Nandani Sharma got two wickets (2/26), while Chinelle Henry (1/32) and Shree Charani (1/45) had one wicket each. 

Delhi Capitals got poor start and never managed to challenge

In reply, Delhi Capitals were struggling at 46/5 in seven overs. Only Chinelle Henry managed to reach the 20-run mark by scoring 56 off 33 balls with five fours and three sixes, while there was no support for her. 

Among Mumbai Indians bowlers, Amelia Kerr (3/24) and Nicola Carey (3/37) got three wickets each, while Nat Sciver-Brunt (2/29) picked up two wickets. However, the MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the Player of the Match award for his finishing knock in the innings.
