Appearing for Kaif, the player’s advocate, Nadeem Murtaza, has argued that the FIR was based on wrong information and reckoned that his client didn’t make any such promise to marry the complainant, much less made a false promise of marriage. The FIR was lodged to malign the player’s reputation.
