What Happened in Byculla
The incident took place in the Byculla area of Mumbai two days before the arrests. According to police reports, a vehicle passing through a waterlogged road allegedly splashed water on one of the accused. This minor incident soon escalated into a serious and violent confrontation involving the occupants of the car.
Officials from Mumbai Police stated that the accused were taken into custody by the Byculla police under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 118(2), 115(2), 324, 352, 351(2), and 3(5). Authorities also confirmed that one person involved in the case is still absconding. The police informed the court that the accused were clearly identified through CCTV footage and witness statements.
During the investigation, officers recovered bamboo sticks and baseball bats that were allegedly used in the assault. The case has been built using surveillance footage, eyewitness accounts, and physical evidence. According to officials, these findings have strengthened the prosecution’s case, as the charges include causing hurt and assault, highlighting the seriousness of the incident involving the victims and their family members.

Even as the legal case was going on in Mumbai, Yusuf Pathan stayed active in politics. He was in West Bengal for the Assembly elections and took part in a roadshow in the Kharagpur Sadar area to support his party’s candidate.
While speaking to reporters, the former KKR all-rounder shared his confidence about the election results. He said the response from the public was very positive and people were supporting their party.
He said, “There is a positive environment here. There is a positive response from the people as well. Pradip Sarkar will win in this constituency, and Mamata Banerjee will come back to power.”
Yusuf Pathan’s IPL Career
Yusuf Pathan made an immediate impact in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008 with the Rajasthan Royals. He scored 435 runs at an outstanding strike rate of 179, including four half-centuries.
