Now, a massive claim over the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). After back-to-back setbacks in the last couple of seasons, the franchise is reportedly taking some serious calls to make their squad a title-worthy one. Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction, preparations to update the squad have already been initiated.

According to the latest claims, the franchise also is set to appoint a new head coach for the upcoming IPL season. If the rumors are to be believed, then former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh can be their new head coach for IPL 2026. As of now, Justin Langer is the head coach of LSG, but the speculations are suggesting that the franchise can show the veteran coach the exit gate. Though there are now official confirmations from the club end.

It is worth remembering that LSG already parted ways with Zaheer Khan. So, along with the squad, the Lucknow-based franchise has to refresh their coaching department as well. According to the speculations, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka is in talks with Yuvraj Singh, and if everything goes according to plan, the two-time World Cup-winning member could join the team for IPL 2026. If things go all according to the plans, then the former India international can make his coaching debut formally.

Yuvraj Singh set to become head coach of LSG!

Off the field, Singh has already gained a reputation as a mentor and batting coach. Current Team India stars like Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma polished their batting skills under the guidance of Singh. IPL star batters like Prabhsimran Singh, Priyans Arya are also students of Yuvraj.

Young players of LSG like Ayush Badoni, Devdutt Padikkal, and Ravi Bishnoi, who have lacked consistency despite their talent, can benefit a lot if Yuvraj joins the team as head coach. Yuvraj previously worked with a team as a mentor in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
