Abhishek Sharma smashed a sensational 113 off 38 balls as India defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the third T20I at Wellington on October 27. The explosive innings helped India chase down a target of 199 in just 13.2 overs and take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

However, the big talking point after the match was how Yuvraj Singh trolls Abhishek Sharma with a hilarious post on X. The former India all-rounder, who mentors Abhishek, praised the youngster’s incredible hitting while reminding him that Yuvraj still holds the record for the fastest T20I fifty by an Indian, scored in just 12 balls.

After watching Abhishek and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dominate New Zealand’s bowlers, Yuvraj Singh shared a playful message on X. He wrote, “You still can't get 50 off 12, can you? Looks like two left-handers batting in their backyard.” The post quickly caught attention as fans enjoyed the friendly banter between the mentor and his disciple.

The remark about 50 off 12 balls was a reference to Yuvraj’s famous performance against England during the 2007 T20 World Cup. He smashed a half-century in just 12 deliveries, a record-breaking knock that included six sixes in an over off Stuart Broad. Abhishek has also produced several explosive innings, but his fastest T20I fifty has come in 13 balls.

The second part of Yuvraj’s post praised the left-handed combination of Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The pair added 133 runs in just 43 balls, putting India in complete control of the chase. Yuvraj Singh teases Abhishek Sharma regularly through friendly banter, but he also supports his progress. After the win, Yuvraj praised Abhishek’s century and joked that he himself could not score a hundred in 30 or 34 balls.

India’s bowlers picked up three wickets, but the total still required an aggressive response from the visitors. Abhishek and Sooryavanshi provided exactly that, attacking from the opening overs and putting the hosts under pressure.

Sooryavanshi scored 45 off just 19 balls, while Abhishek Sharma continued his assault after the opening partnership ended. Abhishek finished with 113 off 38 deliveries, hitting nine fours and 11 sixes. His century came off just 35 balls, making it another remarkable achievement in his growing T20 career. The India chase 199 vs NZ was completed in only 13.2 overs, with India winning by six wickets.
