India named a balanced and flexible 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, with Suryakumar Yadav leading the side and Yashasvi Jaiswal missing out.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the squad for the T20I World Cup 2026 on Saturday. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar omitted Shubman Gill from the squad.

While Jasprit Bumrah has expectedly joined the playing XI replcing Harshit Rana, the T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill isn't in the playing XI.

India face South Africa in the 5th and final T20I at Ahmedabad, with the hosts aiming to seal the series and the visitors looking to finish level.

Shubman Gill is all set to miss the remaining India vs South Africa T20I match (IND vs SA 5th T20I). According to the latest update received on Thursday, because of a toe injury, the top-order batter is out from the match.

A surprising moment for Shubman Gill and for some Indian cricket fans as well. A video shows that a police person in Lucknow told Gill about his recent form.
