1. Shane Warne

Shane Warne

Who could have taken the number 1 spot other than Shane Warne? The spin wizard concluded the discussion of the top 5 leading wicket-takers in the history of The Ashes by taking 195 scalps in 36 matches. Powered by 15 four-wicket hauls and 11 5-wicket hauls, Warne overtook all the other stars in the stat record. Shane Warne's best Ashes series is often cited as the 2005 series, where he took 40 wickets at an average of 19.92, but still, it was England who had the last laugh. Apart from that series, Warne was part of the winning side in seven out of eight Ashes series.
