The second game of the ODI series between India and Sri Lanka takes place at Eden Gardens Kolkata on Thursday. IND vs SL, India won the opening game by 67 runs in Guwahati. The hosts posted 373-7 before restricting Sri Lanka to 306-8 in reply. India have won their last two games by 227 runs (against Bangladesh) and 67 runs on Tuesday. The victory over Sri Lanka was never in doubt in Guwahati and we expect India to dominate them again in this match. After conceding 303 runs before taking their fourth wicket in the opening match of the series, Sri Lanka were always on the back foot. It will take a huge turnaround with bat and ball if they are to win this ODI.

There is always pace in the wicket at Eden Gardens and we expect the quick bowlers to perform better than the spinners in this match. A par score will be around 360-370 in this ODI. The temperature will be at 26 degrees for the first ball before dropping slightly over the rest of the match.

Although Dasun Shanaka is in remarkable form for Sri Lanka, the batting unit for India is very strong. The host’s top three made scores of 83, 70 and 113 on Tuesday. Although Dasun Shanaka batted very impressively over the final stretch of Sri Lanka’s innings in the opening game, India’s victory was never in doubt. Across both batting and bowling, India were much the better side and particularly with the bat, India have a far superior record. With the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in top form, we are predicting another win for India. Sri Lanka have a good squad to pick from and they will be looking to build early momentum ahead of the World Cup later this year. Considering the team combination, India is expected to win this match.
