Match 52 of the 2022-23 Big Bash League sees top-of-the-table Perth Scorchers take on Melbourne Renegades at the Perth Stadium on Sunday evening. The Scorchers have won 10 of their 13 games this season and have 20 points. Melbourne Renegades are in third place with 12 points from 12 fixtures. Perth Scorchers have been a dominant side throughout this year’s BBL and they look to be on course to defend their title. They have a much stronger team and are in better form than their opponents in this match. The Renegades have stumbled over recent games but are still in an excellent position at this stage of the tournament.

Pace bowlers have had plenty of joy on this pitch during BBL12 with team totals averaging between 155-165. We expect any total of 175+ to be enough to win the game. Mostly sunny although it will get cloudier as the game progresses with the temperature in the low 30s and high 20s throughout.
No Injury. Will be added when there is an update

Melbourne Renegades have had their moments this year but they lack the consistency across all positions which Perth Scorchers have. Even with Jhye Richardson still on the sidelines, the Scorchers have such a strong team. This will be Perth Scorchers final group stage game and we expect them to want to finish the stage with a victory in front of their home supporters. For Melbourne Renegades, they still have one more match to play against Adelaide Strikers so it takes the pressure off needing to get a win against the top side. We expect the Renegades to fight throughout this match but do not think they have enough to get the victory. Our prediction is for another win for Perth Scorchers. Considering the team combination, Perth Scorchers is expected to win this match.
