The Delhi Capitals finished fifth in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) standings, with seven victories and as many defeats in 14 games. Despite injuries and a COVID problem in their camp, they fought till the last end but were unable to proceed to the IPL 2022 knockout stages.
The Delhi Capitals, who won a good team in the mega-auction earlier this year, would almost certainly want to add some significant players during the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Here are the three players that may be on the radar of the Delhi Capitals (DC) during the IPL 2023 auction.
The Delhi Capitals kicked off their season by revealing their winning offer from the previous year’s auction. Shardul Thakur was transferred to KKR to increase their finances. With more money in the bank, the Capitals may be able to pick an in-form international all-rounder to replace Shardul.
With England being global T20 winners this year and the anchor of that success emerging in the mini-auction, who else might be a better buy than Sam Curran, who can boost their death bowling attack?
Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings and batting career suffered as a result of the captaincy load. After scoring over 400 runs in each of the previous two seasons (424 in IPL 2020 and 441 in IPL 2021), the right-handed batsman could only manage 196 runs in IPL 2022. He scored his runs at a dismal 16.33 average and a strike rate of 122.5.

However, the upcoming season has the potential to improve his game and make him a game-changer in the tournament. The Delhi Capitals might make an offer for him because the franchise is looking for a backup opener to join David Warner and Prithvi Shaw in the IPL 2023 squad.
The left-handed South African hitter is the next big thing in T20 cricket. Rossouw has appeared in 269 T20 matches, scoring 6,874 runs at a strike rate of 143.44. The South African southpaw returned to the team earlier this year and has played 11 T20Is since then, hitting 372 runs with a strike rate of 176.30. Rossouw is a strong ball hitter who can quickly alter the course of a match. It will not be surprising if clubs make significant trades to bring him into the Capitals’ arsenal, since he can effectively enhance the team’s middle order.
