Shubman Gill currently leads the Gujarat Titans, but his IPL journey originally began with the Kolkata Knight Riders. He represented the franchise from 2018 to 2021 and became a vital part of the batting unit. Thanks to his consistent displays at the top of the order, KKR continued to retain him during his stint with the side.

Before the 2022 mega auction, the newly introduced Gujarat Titans secured him as one of their pre-auction draft picks alongside Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan.
