T20 World Cup 2024: 3 key players to watch out for from Afghanistan

Afghanistan has been one of the most improved cricket teams over the last decade. Their consistent performances against higher-ranked teams and impressive showings at ICC events have made them a formidable force in international cricket.

As they gear up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Afghanistan, ranked 10th in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, enters the tournament as a dangerous underdog. With dry and slow pitches in the West Indies expected to favour their spinners, Afghanistan could be a tricky team to handle.

From playing in the lower tiers of international cricket to competing on the global stage, Afghanistan has made significant strides. Their notable performances in previous T20 World Cups, including memorable wins and competitive matches against top teams, have cemented their status as a rising cricketing nation. Recent victories over Pakistan and Ireland further underscore their growing prowess in the T20 format.
