A look at the top five bowling performances from the third round of the 2025/26 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT), which saw several young and veteran players stood out with skills.

Bowling continues to be a hard job in this ongoing season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26, as only a few bowlers have been successful in showing their skills with the ball in different phases of the game. However, this gives them a good opportunity to polish their skills before the bigger stage of their career.
A very few bowlers stood out from the 3rd round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy despite some notable players like Muhammad Shami and Ishan Sharma taking part. Some of the experienced duo also nailed their performance brilliantly with the white ball.

1. Ramkrishna Ghosh (Maharashtra)

At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Ramkrishna Ghosh, for Maharashtra again Himachal Pradesh, picked up seven for 42 becoming only the 12th bowler to take seven or more wickets in a VHD fixture but his efforts went in vain as the opposition picked up a seven-run victory by bundling out the side for 264 runs for whom Ankit Bawne at number three remain the top scorer with 97 runs in one to zero balls at a stack rate of 80 with the help of six boundaries and one six.

Himachal Pradesh’s Pukraj Mann nailed a fine knock of 110 at a strike rate of nearly 100, which contributed to their victory by a small margin before their clinical bowling performance in the second innings.
Brief Score: Himachal Pradesh 271 (Pukhraj Mann 110, Ramkrishna Ghosh 7/30) beat Maharashtra 264 (Ankit Bawne 97, Mridul Surroch 2/36) by seven runs.
2. Shardul Thakur (Mumbai)

Mumbai face Chhattisgarh in their third round of the VHT tournament, where their captain, Shardul Thakur, stood out with some incredible new-ball bowling performance, where he picked up four wickets in his opening spell of five overs for 13 runs with a maiden at an economy rate of 2.6, which helped them bundle out the opposition for 142 runs in 38.1 overs.
All four of his wickets came against the top four of the Chhattisgarh side before Mumbai completed the chase of 144 runs in twenty 4 overs by nine wickets in hand to win their third consecutive game of the season.

3. Shams Mulani (Mumbai)

In the same class for Mumbai against Chhattisgarh, where Shardul Thakur picked up four wickets in his opening spell of five overs, they needed their spinner to control the middle overs when the wickets settled beautifully for batting.
Sams Mulani stood out with a fine bowling performance of five for 31 in 91 overs at an economy rate of 3.4, including one made in that blew away the middle and lower order of the Chhattisgarh side before Mumbai completed the successful chase by nine wickets in the blink of an eye.

4. Vijay Shankar (Tripura)

When Tripura posted 286 in their first innings against Rajasthan in Ahmedabad, it was supposed to be a decent chase for the opposition, as the pitch looked good for batting performance, but many of the Tripura batters spoiled their starts and could not convert them into a big score.
In the second innings of the clash, Vijay Shankar, who made his way from Tamil Nadu to this domestic side for better opportunities, ended with a fine figure of four for 30 in 7.2 overs at an economic rate of just over four, including one maiden. He was well supported by Manishankar. We ended with three wickets in his 8-hour spell at an economy rate of under four.

5. Anshul Kamboj (Haryana)

At the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground 2 in Bengaluru, Haryana locked horns with Gujarat in the third round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26. In the chase of 300, Gujarat were bundled out for two 73 in 47.10 to lose the game by 26 runs.
Anshul Kamboj, who is expected to be the premier pacer for Chennai Super Kings from the Indian contingent in the next season of the Indian Premier League, having already shown his heroics in the last season, ended with fine figures of 3 for 49 in his 10 overs to complete the victory by 26 runs.
Brief Scores: Haryana 299 (Mayank Shandilya 86, H Rana 57, Nagwaswalla 3/69) beat Gujarat 273 (Jaymeet Paul 67, Vishal Jayswal 51, Anshul Kamboj 3/49) by 26 runs.
