Both the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) came into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against each other after respective victories as they locked horns at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The hosts needed a flurry of wins to get back on track.

The off-spinner bowled a decent over by going for six runs, but Abhishek Sharma was not going to leave it forever. The first delivery of the fifth over was tossed up around the off stump as the southpaw backed away, opened the face of the bat, and went inside out over the cover region for a massive six.

The very next ball was quicker through the air, pushed at the batter, who rocked back and hammered it high over the long-on region for another towering six. Travis Head, from the other end, joined the party as he ended the over with another six over the long-on region.

Hyderabad got 20 runs off the over to get the momentum in their favor.

SRH make clinical start with strong opening stand

Head opened his account with a boundary before the good over from Rana. A couple of boundaries from Mukesh Kumar’s second over released the pressure a little. Abhishek nailed a huge six to end the power play with 67 runs without any damage.

The Punjab-born celebrated his half-century in just 25 balls as he welcomed Axar Patel with a huge six. But the spinner had the last laugh sending back Head to break the 97-run opening stand.
