Afghanistan have recalled their veteran pacer, Naveen-ul-Haq, as he is set to make his return to international cricket in the upcoming three-match T20I series against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This will also be the first assignment for Ibrahim Zadran as the leader of the side in the shortest format of the game.
India, who are currently busy in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, will soon shift their focus to the T20I series against the Afghanistan side. This will be their away series, despite being played at home.

Naveen has gone through a disappointing spell and has been sidelined as a result of the shoulder injury that ruled him out of the Asia Cup in 2025 and the T20 World Cup 2026 earlier this year in India and Sri Lanka. He also underwent surgery for the stress fracture in his right shoulder.
The 26-year-old has already retired from ODIs after the last 50-over World Cup and featured last for the national side in December 2024. The ACB also confirmed the return of their former captain and all-rounder, Gulbadin Naib.
